2010 is an historic opportunity to reclaim our America. We are now at a crossroads where only you can help us become that "city on a hill" that is the American ideal of strength, hope, opportunity and prosperity.
As CPAC attendees awaited Glenn Beck's keynote address, Patrick took the time to speak with bloggers to show them he's the right leader to serve as Congressman in Virginia's 8th District. The reception was overwhelmingly positive, and Patrick was grateful for the opportunity to spend time with individuals who devote so much time and effort to informing and engaging voters in the political process.
Highlights from Bloggers' Row at CPAC: In an excellent live interview on HotAir with Ed Morrissey, 2010 National Blogger of the Year, Patrick talks about his military career and how his message of Economic Liberty, Fiscal Responsibility and a focus on National Security align with the principles of CPAC.

CPAC was an inspiring event. As the only candidate from the VA 8th District invited to speak, it was a privilege to be able to stand in front of a group of great Americans at CPAC on Saturday at the Iraqi Veterans for Congress reception (http://www.iraqvetsforcongress.com/index.htm). Our CPAC reception was fantastic. The room was packed with military vets, excited college students and concerned citizens from all over the country. The media, particularly the bloggers, were also there in force (to watch and listen to my interviews, please go to the links on my website and my Facebook page). We were particularly blessed to have retired Navy Seal and Congressional Medal of Honorrecipient Mike Thornton there to support and inspire us. http://mike-thornton.com/).
I am writing this letter on February 6th, Ronald Reagan’s birthday. One of my favorite President Reagan quotes starts by saying that: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” What kind of country will our children inherit from us? We are currently facing high unemployment and mountains of national debt brought on by reckless government spending. We have unprecedented national security and foreign policy challenges posed by terrorists and rogue nuclear nations who wish to destroy our American way of life.
Patrick Murray is a military man. The Alexandria Republican uses jargon like “ground campaign” rather than “door-to-door” to describe his approach to winning 8th District votes in his Congressional campaign, announced last week.
“I’m not a politician,” Murray said Wednesday in a phone interview. “That’s not my background. I have a lot to offer but I also have a lot to learn and I want to learn from my constituency.”

Fifty minutes. This past week-end we learned that's how long the Obama Administration saw fit to interrogate would-be suicide bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab who allegedly tried to blow up a US airliner approaching Detroit on Christmas Day. After just under an hour of questioning, Abdulmutallab was read his Miranda rights and allowed to "lawyer-up." This also means that he clammed up.
