A Chesterfield product. The son of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and University of Richmond professors and musicians, Robert treasured classical education and the arts. Soon after high school, he began an IT company on Richmond's south side and grew it to serving businesses throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. After attending VCU, Randolph Macon, and Mary Washington, he graduated summa cum laude from William & Mary before studying in Germany and completing his MBA from Emory.

A technology transformer. Robert joined IBM's Virginia-based Federal Government technology consulting practice and co-authored Customs and Immigration materials used at the World Customs Organization to transform national and regional border management. Moving into a cross-industry role, he helped firms IT-enable their business strategies and began IBM's Blockchain / Digital Currency consulting services when $3 bought a Bitcoin. He became IBM's North American CIO Advisory Leader for both private and public sector clients in the U.S., Canada, and Caribbean. His Government and Defense clients included the City of Boston, the Massachusetts State Auditor, the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, Swedish Customs, and the U.S. Air Force, in addition to public/private hybrids like Freddie Mac. He helped each to infuse and properly govern technologies in their firms to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse. He even oversaw one of the world's first wildly successful Artificial Intelligence (AI) deployments before he retired.

A champion for civil rights. Though a longtime advocate for equal rights, an unpreceded civil rights case led him and his love (Elizabeth Fitzgibbon) through state courts to the U.S. Supreme Court. Robert has invested thousands of hours into learning how our U.S. Congress has unintentionally created a marriage/divorce and domestic relations disaster that has harmed millions of Americans. He has solutions to fix what is broken and the passion to drive civil rights reforms for all.

Your advocate and neighbor, not a politician. For Robert, Congress is a chance to help his fellow Americans through public service. He knows it's much easier to represent only a politician's supporters, but that a real Representative's job is much harder: hear, consider, and speak for everyone, including those who disagree with their views. In Congress, he will hear and amplify the concerns of all constituents as well as immigrants seeking legal citizenship, then vote with a clear conscience. He will faithfully represent your needs and interests and will build bridges between people and politics.
